Invest-NL is committed to a more sustainable and innovative Netherlands. Therefore, we focus on investment funds that provide fast-growing innovative companies with greater and better access to risk capital. Funds that effectively fill a clear financing gap and have proven contributions to the venture capital ecosystem in the sector.

Funds that make an impact

Even with funds, Invest-NL has a strong focus on impact and policies related to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG). We focus on funds investing in companies within the sectors of agrifood, bio-based & circular economy, deep tech, energy, and life sciences & health. We promote diversity with the Diverse Manager Programme. We like to be involved early on. This way, we hope to encourage other private and institutional investors to join in together.

Our Investment Criteria

Invest-NL focuses on funds with an intended total size of at least € 50 million. We participate with tickets between € 5 million and € 25 million per fund. Alongside, we outline our main criteria for investments. Additional conditions and details will be discussed during the application process.

Theme

The fund has a clear investment policy focused on making an impact within our strategic themes: Agrifood, Bio-based & Circular economy, Deep tech, Energy, and Life Sciences & Health.

Additionality

We invest in funds that initially do not raise sufficient financing from private and institutional investors. By investing early, we add value.

Experience

We support both first-time funds (start-up teams) and experienced teams. It is important that the fund has a team with a proven track record in investments within the scope of the fund.

The Netherlands

The fund has a clear impact in the Netherlands: the fund is willing to invest at least twice the investment from Invest-NL in Dutch companies.
