With an investment in QuiX Quantum, Europe's first quantum computer is accelerating at light speed

Breakthrough in quantum technology 

QuiX Quantum is building a universal 'full-stack' quantum computer that operates with photons, or particles of light. Unlike a regular computer that computes with bits, zeros and ones, a quantum computer uses 'qubits' that can represent multiple values simultaneously. This allows it to perform many complex, parallel calculations much faster.  

At QuiX Quantum, these qubits are the photons that move at lightning speed through optical chips. This technology is scalable, energy-efficient, and mostly operates at room temperature. This makes it suitable for use in data centers and existing telecommunications networks. 

The quantum computer developed by QuiX Quantum has the potential to enable breakthroughs in fields such as healthcare, artificial intelligence, and the energy sector. The first system is expected to be delivered to the German Aerospace Center DLR in 2026. 

Invest-NL accelerates where the market is hesitant 

The development of this technology requires significant capital and has a long lead time. Commercial investors are often cautious at this stage. Therefore, Invest-NL actively supports this via the Deep Tech Fund, which aims to accelerate groundbreaking technologies in the Netherlands. Quantum technology is one of the key technologies of the future, with impact on nearly all sectors.
