Large funding round for AI semiconductor company Axelera AI

Axelera AI raises € 210 million in one of the largest funding rounds ever for a European AI semiconductor company. The Deep Tech Fund of Invest-NL invests €20 million, thereby strengthening its long-term involvement with this Dutch deep tech scale-up.

The round emphasizes the international confidence in Axelera AI and its technology, with Innovation Industries as the lead investor and including participants such as BlackRock and Wealthberry. The company develops energy-efficient AI chips and combines high-quality chip architecture with an integrated software stack. This addresses the growing demand for powerful, affordable, and scalable AI infrastructure.

Boost for the Dutch ecosystem
