The Deep Tech Fund of Invest-NL invests together with DeepTechXL and the BOM € 4.75 million in TracXon, a deep tech scale-up from Eindhoven. TracXon develops flexible, double-sided, and sustainably printed electronics that serve as an alternative to traditional printed circuit boards. Thanks to this investment, TracXon can prepare its technology for applications in, for example, medical technology, smart devices, and the automotive sector.
As the first entity in Europe, TracXon prints electronics on an industrial scale onto flexible and stretchable films. The unique roll-to-roll manufacturing process produces printed electronics that are not only thin and flexible but also recyclable and cause up to 80% less CO₂ emissions than traditional circuit boards. This results in less waste and avoids the use of solder, copper, and harmful chemicals: a significant step towards cleaner and smarter electronics.
The Deep Tech Fund of Invest-NL invests € 2 million in TracXon. With this investment, TracXon can further scale up and continue pioneering in the field of hybrid printed electronics with its unique process knowledge and patented manufacturing technology. Through TracXon, companies can already perform pilot projects without costs for setting up their own systems and production techniques. This allows these technologies to be adopted more quickly, with TracXon contributing to a robust, European value chain for sustainable electronics.
“TracXon’s technology opens doors to applications previously considered unimaginable. Think of medical patches with integrated biosensors or smart, interactive surfaces in cars. The fact that their technology is also much more sustainable than traditional electronics makes us at the Deep Tech Fund not only proud but also hopeful about the future direction of the industry,” says Liz Duijves, investment manager at Invest-NL.
Customers across various sectors, such as life sciences and automotive, are already using the technology. They see TracXon as a game-changer within their supply chains, offering solutions not yet available elsewhere. This investment demonstrates how the Deep Tech Fund contributes to a sustainable and resilient European industry.
