Investing in Revyve brings sustainable yeast proteins to the international market

The Dutch foodtech scale-up Revyve has secured nearly € 24 million in a funding round, jointly led by ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund and Invest-NL. With this capital, the company can scale up the production of functional yeast proteins that can replace eggs and additives in food products. This represents a significant step in the protein transition and a strengthening of the circular economy.

Invest-NL invested € 7 million in this Series B round of Revyve. In addition to Invest-NL and ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund, the round also included the Brabant Development Company (BOM), strategic partner Lallemand Bio-Ingredients and Grey Silo Ventures, as well as existing investors Oost NL and Cosun Strategic Ventures.

Sustainable alternative to eggs and additives

Revyve develops functional proteins from yeast that have the same properties as eggs in applications such as bakery products, sauces, meat substitutes, and dairy alternatives. Unlike many replacements, Revyve's ingredients are natural, sustainable, clean label, and cost-competitive. This helps producers respond to three major challenges: volatile egg prices, demand for fewer additives, and the pressure to reduce CO₂ emissions in the supply chain.

By replacing eggs, Revyve reduces pressure on land and water use, improves animal welfare, and lowers the environmental impact of food production. This directly aligns with Invest-NL’s mission to accelerate the protein transition and strengthen the circular economy.

Dutch innovation with global potential

With its first factory in Dinteloord, which is already producing for several clients, Revyve has proven that it can produce on an industrial scale. Thanks to the new investment, production can be expanded to more than 1,600 tonnes per year, enabling the company to supply large international food producers.

“We are proud to invest in this Dutch company, which enhances the innovative strength of the Netherlands with groundbreaking technology that could change the way food is produced worldwide.”
