Invest-NL invests € 15 million in IQ Capital Fund V, a new deep tech venture capital fund by the British investor IQ Capital. With this investment, Invest-NL strengthens the Dutch deep tech ecosystem by providing additional capital, international expertise, and scalability for innovative companies in the early growth phase.
IQ Capital Fund V focuses on early-stage deep tech companies (Seed and Series A) in five thematic domains: AI & Automation, Computing & Semiconductors, Health & Bio, Advanced Engineering & Energy, and Security & Resilience. The fund invests across Europe, with the Netherlands as one of its primary target markets.
The Netherlands boasts a strong deep tech ecosystem and a growing number of deep tech start-ups and scale-ups, but there is a shortage of specialised funds with sufficient capital and experience to help these companies grow. IQ Capital has nearly twenty years of experience in deep tech investments and brings a strong track record, in-depth sector knowledge, and a robust international network to the Dutch deep tech market.
"IQ Capital aims to further expand its presence in the Netherlands. With this investment, we introduce a well-capitalised player into our ecosystem, something we still lack sufficiently in Europe. This will strengthen the funding base for Dutch and European deep tech innovation," says Stefanie Landman, Senior Investment Manager at Invest-NL.
Through this investment, Invest-NL emphasises its role as a long-term partner for innovative companies and funds that contribute to a future-proof Dutch economy.
