Geothermal lessons from Germany, Denmark and France for the Dutch Market

The Netherlands faces a major challenge in the energy transition, and geothermal energy plays an important role in this. The development of geothermal energy in the Netherlands remains somewhat behind, especially considering the ambitions of the government in this area. Invest-NL has taken the initiative to accelerate the application of geothermal energy in the Netherlands by drawing valuable lessons from the experiences of our neighbouring countries. This has resulted in a study showing how successful implementations take place in countries such as Denmark, Germany, and France. The message is clear: we need to get to work on establishing robust financing models, optimised regulations, and strong public-private partnerships.
