Financing of a battery in a Closed Distribution System (CDS)

Many sustainable energy projects struggle to connect to the grid. An increasingly common solution is a Closed Distribution System (CDS), a private electricity network. With a CDS, multiple energy projects can be interconnected and directly connected to the high-voltage grid. The combination of a CDS with energy storage has technical potential. The technical advantage also manifests commercially: the storage can be used to utilise existing infrastructure more evenly. The financing of both systems together presents challenges but also certainly opportunities.
